What is included in the Pack of Mind Kit?

What problem does the kit solve?

The Pack of Mind Kit keeps thoughtfully chosen essentials together in one grab-and-go backpack for road trips, camping, and outdoor adventures with your dog. Spend less time gathering gear, searching through the car, or realizing something was left at home—with practical supplies ready for the outing and the cleanup afterward.

Is the kit only for camping?

Not at all. It is useful for:

• Car rides and road trips
• Camping and RV travel
• Beach and lake days
• Rainy or muddy walks
• Park visits
• Everyday cleanup before coming inside

Has the kit been tested with a real dog?

Yes. The kit was developed and refined through everyday life and extended camping trips with Nacho, our big fluffy product tester. The final contents were selected based on what proved genuinely useful—not simply what could fit in the bag.

What colors are available?

The Pack of Mind Kit is available in Navy and Dark Green. Check the product page for current availability.

Is the kit only for big or fluffy dogs?

No. The kit was inspired by Nacho, but its essentials are useful for dogs of different sizes, breeds, and coat types. The included Large MudBuster offers extra room for paws, fluffy fur, and cleaning water; dogs with narrower paws may also benefit, especially those with thick fur around their feet. The listed paw-width range for the Large is 2½ to 3½ inches. The 3½-inch measurement is the upper limit of that range, not the minimum. Paw shape and fur also matter when checking for a comfortable fit. Never force a paw inside. See the fit note on the product page.

How much can the backpack hold?

The large backpack holds the complete Pack of Mind Kit with additional room for personal travel items. During field testing, it also accommodated items such as treats, toys, an extra towel and water bottles. What fits will vary depending on the size and shape of your additional items.

Are all the products shown in photographs included?

Lifestyle photographs may show optional products or personal adventure gear. The “What’s Included” list on the product page identifies exactly what comes with your kit.

Using the Kit

How do I use the paw-cleaning cup?

Add enough clean water to cover the soft cleaning bristles, insert one paw at a time and gently rotate the cup. Remove the paw and dry it thoroughly with the included towel. Empty and rinse the cup after use.

Gently angle the cup as needed so the soft bristles contact the paw, including when the paw is narrower than the cup. The Large MudBuster provides extra room for paws, thick fur, and water; the Large MudBuster’s listed paw-width range is 2½ to 3½ inches, with 3½ inches as the upper limit—not the minimum. Paw shape and fur also affect fit. Never force a paw inside. Check the fit note before ordering.

How should I care for the towel and backpack?

Machine wash the hand-pocket towel cool with regular detergent and tumble dry on low. Do not use fabric softener or bleach. Hand wash the backpack and follow the care label on each product. Empty and rinse the paw cleaner and travel bowl, and let all gear dry completely before storing.

Is the travel bowl intended for food or water?

It can be used for either food or water. Wash and dry it between uses, especially when switching between the two.

Can I leave the kit in my car?

The core travel gear can be stored in your vehicle when conditions are appropriate. Remove water, food, grooming liquids, balms and other temperature-sensitive products during extreme heat or freezing weather.

Dog Care Essentials and Refills

Can I shop without buying a kit?

Yes. Everything in Dog Care Essentials can be purchased on its own or alongside the Pack of Mind Kit. Choose only what fits your dog and the supplies you already have.

What optional products can I add?

• Paw protection wax for protective care before an outing.
• Grooming wipes for everyday surface dirt on paws and coats.
• An extra hand-pocket towel for paw drying and damp-area touch-ups.
• The XL drying towel for more coverage after a swim or bath.
• Paw & nose balm for moisturizing dry paws and noses after cleanup.
• Between-bath coat freshener as an optional finishing step.
• Standard waste-bag refills or refills with handles to restock your walking supplies.

The kit includes one hand-pocket towel and one roll of waste bags. Extra towels, refill packs, wax, balm, wipes, and spray are separate purchases. Check each product page for quantity, scent, color, and availability.

Which cleanup product do I need?

Wipes remove everyday surface dirt; towels absorb moisture. The hand-pocket towel helps with controlled drying and touch-ups, while the XL towel provides more coverage for a wet dog. Paw wax is for protective care before an outing; balm moisturizes dry paws and noses afterward. Coat freshener adds freshness between baths and does not replace cleaning or drying.

What is the difference between the two waste-bag packs?

The standard refill pack contains 120 bags on 8 rolls and closes with a knot. The handle-bag pack contains 105 bags on 7 rolls with easy-tie handles. Both offer Lavender and Unscented choices. Each purchase is one retail pack; a dispenser is not included.

Can I customize the contents of the kit?

The core kit has fixed contents, with Navy and Dark Green color choices. Kit components cannot be swapped individually. You can buy optional products separately to suit your routine.

Practical Questions About Your Kit

Does my dog wear the backpack?

No—the backpack carries the gear and is intended for the person to carry. It is not a dog-worn pack or pet carrier.

Do I need to bring water for the paw washer?

Yes—bring your own clean water for paw cleaning and your dog’s drinking needs. Water is not included with the kit.

Can I choose a different paw-washer size in the current kit?

The current kit includes the Large MudBuster; individual components cannot be swapped unless an option is shown on the product page. Its listed paw-width range is 2½ to 3½ inches, with 3½ inches as the upper limit—not the minimum. Additional kit options are planned after launch, with details and release dates still to be confirmed.

Can I use the kit with more than one dog?

You can use the gear for multiple dogs where the fit is comfortable. Refresh the cleaning water between dogs and clean the equipment after use.

What if my dog dislikes having its paws handled?

Introduce the cup slowly and let your dog investigate it before trying a paw. Keep sessions gentle, stop if your dog becomes uncomfortable, and never force a paw into the cup.

Is the hand-pocket towel a full-body drying towel?

The included hand-pocket towel is intended for paws and touching up damp areas on the legs, face, and coat. For drying a thoroughly wet dog, our XL Waffle Microfiber Dog Drying Towel offers 35 × 70-inch coverage in Sky Blue or Gray. It is sold individually as an optional separate purchase and is not included in the kit.

Can I pack wet gear immediately after cleanup?

You can pack used gear temporarily for the trip home after emptying excess water. Unpack damp items afterward and let everything dry completely before storing the kit.

Are the care products shown alongside the kit included?

Paw wax, rescue balm, wipes, and freshening spray are optional purchases and are not included in the standard kit. Browse current add-on options and use the kit’s What’s Included list to confirm exactly what comes with it.

Does the paw washer’s lid prevent leaks during travel?

Yes—the twist-on travel lid closes securely to help prevent spills during travel. Make sure it is properly tightened, and empty and clean the cup after use.

Is the backpack waterproof or water-resistant?

The backpack is breathable, not waterproof. Its mesh panels allow airflow around damp gear, while a separate water-resistant zippered pocket helps protect smaller belongings such as your phone, keys, and wallet; always unpack wet gear and let it dry fully after an outing.

Can I buy replacement kit components?

Contact Home After Paws with your order number and the component you need. We’ll check availability and provide pricing and shipping options before you purchase; availability is not guaranteed.

Do you have a physical retail store?

Home After Paws is an online-only store. We do not currently have a physical retail location or offer routine local pickup.

Can I return a kit that has been opened or used?

Opening the outer package to inspect your kit does not automatically make it ineligible for return: eligible returns must be requested within 14 days of delivery, and the kit must be complete, unused, unwashed, and in its original condition with included packaging and accessories. We do not accept change-of-mind returns after use with your dog; buyers pay return shipping unless an item arrived damaged, defective, or incorrect—contact us before returning and review our Refund Policy for full terms.

Everyday Walks

What is the Everyday Walks collection?

Everyday Walks brings together collars, a harness, and a 6-foot rope leash for neighborhood strolls, park visits, and outings around town. Each item is sold separately and is not included in the Pack of Mind Kit.

Which collar should I choose?

The magnetic-buckle collar is adjustable and opens with a buckle. The braided martingale collar slips over the head and has a fixed size with no buckle or adjustment slider. Its secondary loop tightens under leash tension and relaxes when the leash goes slack. It is for supervised walks and is not suitable for dogs under 20 lb or necks under 14 inches.

How does the magnetic buckle stay closed?

Magnets guide the halves together; a mechanical side-release lock holds them closed. Press both side buttons at the same time to release. Confirm each buckle is fully locked before walking.

How do I choose the harness size?

Measure the neck and widest part of the chest just behind the front legs. Both measurements must fit the selected size. Our Cloud harness listing has L and XL measurements and a fit guide. Adjust so two fingers fit under the straps and recheck before each walk.

Does the harness have front and back leash points?

Yes: one on the chest and two on the back. Its padded mesh lining, adjustable straps, and reflective trim support your everyday walking routine.

Is the whole leash braided?

The 6-foot rope leash has a hand-braided loop handle and a smooth round rope lead, with a black metal clip. Choose Champagne or Twilight Gray; collars and harnesses pictured alongside it are separate purchases.

How do I care for walking gear?

Machine wash the magnetic collar and Cloud harness cold on a delicate cycle, then hang dry. Hand wash the braided collar and leash with mild soap and warm water. Let everything dry fully and follow the directions on each product page.

Where do you ship?

We ship to the United States and Canada, subject to product and delivery availability at checkout.

How does shipping work for kits and add-ons?

Qualifying orders of $139.99 or more receive free standard shipping to eligible U.S. destinations, whether you buy a kit, add-ons, or both. Free standard shipping applies to eligible domestic U.S. orders only. Canadian customers pay shipping on all orders, regardless of order value. For Canada and U.S. orders below the threshold, available shipping rates are calculated and shown at checkout before payment. Review our Shipping Policy for processing times and delivery details.

Can I return an add-on?

Return eligibility depends on the product and its condition. Review the Refund Policy before ordering, especially for grooming, paw-care, hygiene, and opened consumable products. Contact us before sending anything back; damaged, defective, or incorrect items are handled separately.

When will my order ship?

Current processing and estimated delivery information will appear during checkout. Once your order ships, you will receive tracking information by email.
